The company’s second location of the concept will move into the former home of Akropolis Cafe in The Arboretum Shopping Center, according to the Charlotte Observer. The new Curry Junction is expected to open in a few months, offering traditional curry dishes and tandoori-style cuisine. Owner Chuda Dhimal recently made Curry Junction’s debut as a food stall in the recently opened Monarch Market.

When these new restaurants open, customers can expect delicious Indian cuisine, including freshly baked naan, Tikka Masala, Korma, and Momo. Dhimal opened Curry Gate on West 24th Street in 2020 before expanding to a second location on South Boulevard earlier this year. Dhimal also owns the Indian restaurant King of Spicy in East Charlotte at 8829 E W.T. Harris Blvd #107.

The restaurant owner should have no problem getting customers in the doors with the new restaurant replacing the Greek restaurant, sitting between Mo2Salon and a vacant restaurant space that was the former home of Charlotte Cafe. While the popular shopping center already has a handful of restaurants in the area, none exclusively offer Indian and Nepalese cuisine. The only potential competitors will be Malaya Kitchen Asian Fusion.
