The news was recently shared on the restaurant’s Facebook page: “We are thrilled to announce that our next Michael Waltrip Taproom location is opening soon in Mooresville, NC. Stay tuned for updates! Cold beer. Great food. Legendary times.”
Jena Henderson, the President of the restaurant brand, told What Now Charlotte the new location will debut in September, 2024.
The restaurant, which first opened its doors at 7731 Gateway Ln NW, Concord, NC 28027, has quickly become a favorite spot for both NASCAR fans and food enthusiasts.
Michael Waltrip’s storied career in NASCAR, highlighted by his two Daytona 500 wins in 2001 and 2003, is celebrated at the taproom. Beyond racing, Waltrip has appeared on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” authored the New York Times best-selling book “In the Blink of an Eye,” and saw his story adapted into a nationally released movie in 2019.
The Michael Waltrip Taproom offers more than just a nod to its namesake’s achievements. The restaurant features the Michael Waltrip Brewery’s Two Time-line of beers on tap, providing patrons with a unique and thematic drinking experience. The taproom prides itself on offering an environment where life’s moments can be celebrated, enhanced by great food and cold beer. With a menu filled with “freakin’ delicious” items and a venue that boasts all the games from all the sports all the time, it’s designed to keep customers coming back for more.
