The location was formerly occupied by Downtown Thai & Pho, which served sushi, Thai food, and Vietnamese pho, which closed on May 31 after more than 20 years at their downtown Winston-Salem location.
Work planned at the space in transitioning Downtown Thai & Pho into Ramen Mafia include re-installing and connecting removed kitchen equipment and a remodel to the dining room and front entrance, according to the plans filed with the City.
Venny Juniaty will be opening the new ramen spot and said that they are projecting to open on August 26.
“It will be a typical Japanese ramen store,” Juniaty said. “Currently there isn’t any in downtown Winston-Salem.”
Juniaty is also the co-owner of Thai Harmony, a Thai restaurant that serves sushi, noodles, stir fries and other Thai dishes in the Liberty Plaza Building in Winston-Salem.
Stay tuned for updates on this location’s upcoming opening.
