Q’s Culinary Cart is bringing its popular hot dog and burger menu to a physical location in Charlotte in August. It will hold a soft opening at its new storefront location on Aug. 2, 2024, to “work out any kinks that may arise” before its grand opening weekend on Aug. 3-4, according to a July 22 announcement on its Instagram page.

The food truck sensation has been serving food to the Charlotte community since 2020, when owner Kwindarius “Q” Sapp started the street food business.
Sapp says that the new location at 8432 Old Statesville Road will have the same menu, including specialty hot dogs like The BLT Dog and The Southern Boy as well as “smash burgers” and sandwiches. The menu also features vegan and vegetarian hot dog and burger options.
“I’m actually a resident near this side of town — about 15 minutes away — so I’m happy to bring something I created to my own side of town,” Sapp said. “I’m also looking forward to being back in a standard spot versus being mobile and traveling all around. I’m looking forward to being able to come in, do what we do, see our guests coming around, and being able to clean up, turn the lights off and go home.”
Sapp said the food truck concept is not going away completely. For now, he and the team will focus on getting the storefront up and running, but once it is more established, he hopes to use both his storefront and food truck to serve customers around Charlotte.
“Starting out, we’re going to be focusing on the storefront until we figure out what type of manpower we need and things of that nature,” Sapp said. “Once we know that we’re staffed up and have what we need to have the storefront open and send the truck out, we’ll be doing both.”
Sapp is looking forward to welcoming Charlotte residents to his grand opening in early August and to continuing to grow as a part of the community.
“We’re going to continue to put out quality products that we can stand behind,” Sapp said. “We’re excited to bring something to this side of town because there are no staple restaurants in this area. And we’re trying to become one of those Charlotte staples. Just to bring some action over here — we really look forward to doing that. We just hope people local to this area and all around Charlotte make it their business to come over here and see what we have to offer.”
