The new spot will feature both indoor and outdoor seating, serving sourdough pizzas and sandwiches, salads and desserts, as well as beverage options including canned beer, wine, seltzer, cider and non-alcoholic cocktails.
“The shop’s aesthetic will play off an elevated diner vibe mixed with a galactic motif throughout, featuring artwork and other themed elements,” read the Instagram statement.
To go with the galactic theme, the restaurant will also feature celestial-inspired draft cocktails.
Gravity Sourdough Pizza Co. is not new to the Charlotte community. Co-owners Alex Osterhoudt and Amanda Wagner launched the brand in fall 2023 in a mobile trailer. The pair also owns Aurora Starlit Cinema, a business they started in 2022 that focuses on providing outdoor movie experiences reminiscent of a drive-in movie theater.
Osterhoudt and Wagner have paired their two businesses, serving Gravity Pizza at Aurora Starlit Cinema events. Currently, the menu features several unique sourdough pizzas such as the Peachy Keen, which is topped with honey-glazed peaches, white sauce, red onion and arugula.
Until the brick-and-mortar location opens at Camp North End, Gravity Sourdough Pizza Co. will continue to serve pizza on Thursday nights at Crossroads Cinema, according to the Instagram announcement.
Camp North End is a 76-acre complex that contains both retail and office spaces, as well as restaurants and shopping locations on site. Gravity Sourdough Pizza Co. will join its directory of bars, restaurants and dessert spots.
What Now Charlotte has reached out to Gravity Sourdough Pizza Co. for more information on the brick-and-mortar concept and the opening timeline but has yet to receive a response. Stay tuned for updates on this new location.
