The new location will be headed up by local franchisees Antonio Tillery and Brian Miller, who already own several locations in the area.

The two most recently opened a Fort Mill location at 1034 Gold Hill Rd, which What Now Charlotte reported on in February. The brand also has spots in Dilworth, Cornelius and Greensboro, as well as another North Carolina location in South Asheville.

The New York Butcher Shoppe & Wine Bar currently has 33 locations across eight states. The brand offers a wide array of food offerings, including fresh meats ranging from Certified Angus Beef steaks to chicken and pork options. It also offers specialty items like stuffed filets and roasts, alongside a significant wine list.

“First and foremost, we are a butcher shop. That’s the core of our business,” Tillery said. “We will also have the same variety of prepared foods — the convenient, grab-and-go premade meals — that we offer at our other locations as well, and we will have a dine-in component with a wine bar and several tables and a patio that mirrors what we offer at the other shops too.”

While the menu will be the same, customers can expect a slightly different feel at the Belmont location as they will need to conform to the construction requirements there.

The new spot in Belmont will be about 3,640 square feet, and construction is currently underway. As of now, Tillery said it is difficult to set an opening timeline because it depends on construction, but he estimates an early summer 2025 opening.

“Our mission from day one since we opened our first shop in the Dilworth neighborhood is to really become part of the community and the neighborhood in which we operate,” Tillery said. “We’re not just trying to be an irresponsible corporate citizen — we want to be deeply integrated into the community. We want the residents of Belmont to feel that we are their spot to go and the source of their high-quality proteins and for them to come and have a great meal.”
