Mandy Landaas, who runs local therapy practice Third Wave Psychotherapy, will be the franchisee for the spot.
The Bomb Bar currently has one location in Charleston, and it is associated with The Bomb Co., a company launched in 2017 by Helen Hall-Leland. The business sells blender bombs, bars, granola and protein-focused snacks.
The Bomb Bar focuses on serving smoothies inspired by the initial product, the blender bombs, which are superfood balls designed to pack smoothies with nutrition. Menu items include smoothies like green pineapple eruption and peanut butter coffee dynamite.
“At The Bomb Bar, our smoothies are designed to leave you feeling genuinely full and content,” The Bomb Bar website reads. “They’re packed with all the essential amino and fatty acids your body needs, effectively curbing those sugar cravings and preventing hunger from creeping up just an hour later. Our mission is to make healthy eating more accessible and convenient, so you can look, feel and be your best.”
Landaas told the Triangle Business Journal she and her late husband had wanted to open a smoothie shop in their therapy office for a long time, which inspired her to open a franchise.
“I feel like health and wellness is something that is a really high priority and a value for people in the Triangle,” Landaas told the Business Journal.
In addition to smoothies, the shop will serve toasts, coffee and smoothie bowls. It will have indoor seating for about 13, with additional outdoor seating.
Landaas hopes to expand the brand to two more locations in the area in the next few years, with her sights set on Durham and Chapel Hill.
