White has been operating a location in Mint Hill for about five years. The Waxhaw location will be her second franchise location with the chain.

“We moved from Mint Hill to this area, and we believe in good quality of food and absolutely love the quality at Wayback,” White said. “So we thought it would be a good choice to bring it to our communities here.”

White said the new spot will be a larger space than the Mint Hill location, at 2,000 square feet instead of about 1,300. It will feature an outdoor patio, as well as a more modern design with bright, welcoming colors.

She emphasizes that she hopes to make the Waxhaw location community-oriented, with plans to partner with local schools and charities.

Construction has yet to begin at the spot. White is expecting a four-month renovation process once construction begins and expects to open the location in March 2025.

“We cannot wait to serve our community and we hope that everyone comes and checks us out,” White said.

Wayback Burgers operates in 35 states with more than 170 locations. The fast-casual chain serves signature burgers, cheese fries and hand-dipped milkshakes.
