The Colorado-based company received unanimous approval to open a proposed 2,669-square-foot location on approximately 0.86 acres, according to the City Council Zoning Meeting from September 18. The fast-casual restaurant chain filed for a rezoning application late last year to move into the former home of Circle K. Plans show this will be a normal Chipotle without a Chipotlane but with at least two dozen parking spaces.

While there are over twenty locations throughout the greater Charlotte area, Chipotle has found an ideal spot for this upcoming site, situated in the middle of five existing locations. On top of that, this will be an excellent area for this forthcoming location, sitting across from the Park Road Shopping Center, which is loaded with various retailers and eateries. The only downside of this location is that Chipotle will have to compete with QDOBA, Taco Bell, and Velvet Taco.

There is no exact opening date for the new Monford location, but considering it is still under construction, it is likely that Chipotle will open next year. When it does, customers can expect the delicious options that have made this concept so popular. Starting with either a bowl, burrito, or tacos, customers can choose from a variety of fillings, proteins, and veggies. Chipotle is working on opening several other locations throughout the country.
