This new concept is the latest from Clarence Boston, who is also opening Another Brewery, expected to open in November at 2509 N. Davidson St., and Hippin’ Hops Brewery & Distillery, opening in December at 650 E. Brooklyn Village Ave. The business owner is now preparing to open Jive Turkey Hut with co-owner James Pettis in the former home of Bodrick’s Bar-B-Q, according to the Charlotte Observer. The concept is expected to open by Thanksgiving.

When this new restaurant opens later this year, customers can expect smoked turkey legs just under a foot long and stuffed with various additions, such as shrimp alfredo, mac & cheese, or collard greens. Other entrees on the menu include smoked wings, grilled turkey burgers, Cajun shrimp, salmon and grits, salmon burgers, and grilled or fried chicken sandwiches. To drink, Jive Turkey Hut will feature a full bar specializing in frozen daiquiris. Customers can expect at least eight kinds of daiquiris in rotation. The nearly 700-square-foot restaurant will have a black, white, and gray interior with pops of color features artwork by Charlotte artist Whitney Austin.

“The Jive Turkey Hut prides itself on using only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients to create mouth-watering dishes that showcase the rich flavors and culinary traditions of the American South,” according to the company’s website. “Whether you’re a local resident or a visitor to the city, Jive Turkey Hut is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the best of southern cuisine in a welcoming and relaxed setting. The restaurant has earned a reputation for its delicious southern-style cuisine, friendly atmosphere, and exceptional customer service.”
