Owner Brent Schilb opened the original location during the pandemic in 2020 and managed to survive through restrictions and shutdowns. Now, he is getting ready to open a second location in the former home of Hot Rod Cafe, first reported by Axios Charlotte. Schilb tells What Now Charlotte that he hopes to open by the end of the year but has yet to set an exact opening date due to permitting and construction.

Two Buck Saloon has become a neighborhood staple within Plaza Midwood, known as a place where you can see live performances without a cover charge. Like the original, the new Two Buck will have plenty of entertainment, such as pool tables, dartboards, and tons of beer and liquor. The original site at 1113 Hawthorne Lane offers a ‘Buckshot’ special, which includes a PBR draft and a Jim Beam whiskey shot for only $6. When the new Two Buck Saloon opens, customers can expect the same feel as the original.

On top of being a saloon in a city full of fancy cocktail bars and gastropubs, Two Buck Saloon has also amassed a following with the help of its weekly specials. This week, the bar offers $2 specials all day for Busch Light and Miller High Life 12oz Cans and PBR 16oz draft. The bar also likes to celebrate national holidays, with upcoming Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas events planned for the original. These types of specials and events are expected to carry over to the new location.
