This new business will be a perfect place for people to visit adoptable cats while getting a refreshing drink. Guests can expect a variety of coffee, tea, wine, and beer. Owner Inga Carey tells What Now Charlotte that Purrfect Pair Cat Cafe is currently receiving construction bids and is expected to open in March or April 2024. Inga says she hoped to open the new cat cafe earlier, but construction delays have pushed the project back.

Earlier this week, Inga applied for a small business loan, hoping to use the funds to cover construction, appliances, and boarding condo costs. The new business came as inspiration after Inga had visited 36 different cat cafes in five states: Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, and Kentucky. The journey led her to figure out exactly what would work for her business and eventually find the perfect spot in the former home of Healthy Pets Spay and Neuter, across the street from the NE Plaza Shopping Center and Golden Corral Buffet & Grill. Process All adoption decisions, paperwork, and fees are under the direction of the Humane Society of York County. The company’s social media is active and those interested in finding out more are encouraged to sign up for emails on the company’s website.

“The 2023 school year started, and Inga was still searching for the purrfect spot to start the cafe,” according to the company’s website. “She learned that Healthy Pets Spay and Neuter moved to a new location on Riverview Road and that their previous space was vacant. Jumping at the chance to have a pet-friendly landlord, she applied to rent the space, and in October, she signed the lease! Now, we will start the permits, demolition, and construction of the space so it can become a cat paradise, and we hope to open in early 2024.”
