The company, led by Jason Cowan, recently announced on social media that the coffee shop will be opening a third location near Matthews. The site will be drive-thru and walk-up only and will feature a mural by a local artist, according to Axios Charlotte. The new location is expected to open in Spring 2024. Burr & Berry Coffee has sites in Lower South End at 4209 South Boulevard and in Indian Land at 1221 Transformation Lane.

When the new Matthews locations open later this year, customers can expect a handful of coffee classics, as well as Burr & Berry signature drinks and blended coolers, as well as other drinks like Italian sodas, energy drinks, tea, and more. For food, the eatery has a variety of daily pastries and oatmeal. The company takes its customer’s opinions very seriously, even giving its fans the choice to decide what the upcoming eatery will be called with the announcement.

“It was really fun to see all the wishes and hopes for where our next store will be,” according to the company’s announcement on Instagram. “We feel humbled and honored by your love and really just want to make our customers – as our FIRST priority – so happy. The exciting thing is the top two mentions were Pineville and Matthews. We are SO HAPPY to share where our third location will be… 9605 Monroe Road just north of Matthews! Please let us know if you think we should call this store (which is technically in Charlotte just over the line from Matthews): a) Matthews, b) Monroe Rd, c) NoMa (North of Matthews, or d) something else!”
