The company’s second location will replace The Dreamchaser’s Brewery, which closed down a few weeks ago after serving the community since 2016. There is no timeline for the opening of Middle James Brewing Company at the corner of N. Providence Street and E North Main Street, but it will be the first time the company has expanded since it opened in early 2021. When it opens, customers can expect the same welcoming environment at the company’s first location.

“We have said many times that the cities we plant seeds in with our brewery locations are more than just an address,” Middle James Brewing Company said on social media. “We love that we get to become a part of the community and have the opportunity to be a spot that the locals consider their own. We hope that the town of Waxhaw will be just as thrilled as we are to be joining many other incredible businesses with solid roots.”

Middle James Brewing Company is the brainchild of business partners Michael Smoak, Andrew Viapiano, and Shannon Wallace. The trio opened the company’s first location on the backside of the Golf Village building, featuring 24 taps, lunch and dinner seven days a week, 15 TVs and a projector, an 830-square-foot room for private parties, a shaded deck overlooking the putting green, Par three and range and an outdoor beer garden. Now, the owners will take the concept to Waxhaw later this year.

“Neil and the folks at The Dreamchasers Brewery created a wonderful spot, one that many of us created lifelong memories in and one that gave many a feeling of hometown comfort,” the company said in its announcement. “This is exactly the type of place and feeling that we plan to carry on at Middle James Brewing – WXW. We look forward to what’s to come and hope that you do too.”
