The California-based cookie brand recently opened a new location in South End at 3216 South Boulevard #101, at the base of The Platform. This is the latest from franchise group Urban Eatery, led by Muhammad Kamran Awan and his business partner Eibaad Ahmed, which has signed a 17-store deal for the state, according to Charlotte Business Journal. Plans include five locations in the Charlotte area, five in the Raleigh-Durham market, and seven in the Triad.

The company’s recent opening isn’t the first for North Carolina. Urban Eatery opened its first location in Greensboro at 4526 W Wendover Avenue, Ste D100, in February, with many more on the way. Following the recently opened South End location, the franchise group plans to open another site in New Bern, with construction set to begin soon. Finally, multiple letters of intent are open across Charlotte and the Triad.

Urban Eatery is part of Greensboro-based Mega Group, a holding company that operates multiple franchise brands, including The Halal Guys, also opening at The Platform later this year. The group has recently decided to go all-in on the new one-of-a-kind cookie brand that is bringing a new twist to the cookie industry with fat-stack cookies made with the highest quality ingredients. Last year, LL Cool J collaborated with Cookie Plug and multi-unit franchisee Kevin Davis on a 60-unit deal to open the California-based brand in several markets, including Los Angeles, Orlando, New Jersey, and Texas.
